Balance and Breath Yoga

Instructor: Doraine

Style: Gentle Flow & Standing Balance

Level: All levels (Beginner-friendly)

Props: Optional blanket and blocks; wall or sturdy furniture for balance support

Length: 32 minute

Class Description:

With inspiration from the Talmud’s gentle reminder—“Every blade of grass has its angel that whispers, grow”—this class invites you to explore balance in both stillness and motion. Doraine guides a full-spectrum practice that begins with grounded breathwork and somatic twists, then gradually builds to dynamic standing poses and playful balance challenges. The practice closes with soft floor work and a reflective savasana to ground your growth in the body.

You’ll Explore:

  • Supine twists and somatic bridge work to wake up the hips and pelvis

  • Gentle spinal mobility, windshield wipers, and supported hip openers

  • Tabletop strength and mobility drills, including fire hydrant circles

  • Transitional balance work through toe squats and forward folds

  • Standing sequences with Chair, High Lunge, and progressive Tree Pose

  • Mindful balance play to explore movement, sway, and proprioception

  • Functional strength with dynamic lunge-to-tree transitions

  • Grounding twists and stretches to release effort and integrate breath

  • A guided savasana rooted in metaphor, rest, and embodied presence

This class offers a poetic and empowering approach to balance—not just as a shape to hold, but as a feeling to explore. Ideal for any time you want to reconnect with your strength, center your breath, and grow with grace.
