A Note From Dr. Andrew Bennett
Welcome
Hello,
I’m Dr. Andrew Bennett, author of Healing Together. I’m so glad you’re here.
I created this course as a companion to the book—so we could take a deeper look at what pain really is and how healing happens. We’ll unpack the science, explore real stories, and have an honest, personal conversation about what it means to heal from chronic pain.
This space was designed to support you—the person who loves someone living with chronic pain. If you’re a spouse, Partner, parent, or friend trying to understand and help, this course was built with you in mind.
And if you’re someone living with pain—or even a clinician—welcome. There’s value in seeing this journey from a new perspective.
Best,
Dr. Andrew Bennett

How to Approach This Course
Think of this as time in the clinic together. Your Partner might be the one on the treatment table—but right now, I’m talking to you. Your support, understanding, and relationship are powerful parts of the healing process. Go slow. Let the ideas settle. You don’t have to absorb everything at once. Think of it like building a framework—you start by pounding a few pegs in the wall. Each one helps anchor what you’re learning so you can come back and connect the pieces later.
My Invitation to You
I built this course for you, with the hope that it brings clarity, support, and a renewed sense of direction on your path to healing. You hold more influence than you realize in how your Partner’s healing unfolds.
So, let’s begin. Grab your book, mark page 125, print the exercises, and take a deep breath.
You’re not alone in this. Healing happens together.
What to Expect
Each lesson expands on a chapter from the book. Together we’ll explore:
How chronic pain affects both people in the relationship.
What it means to step into the healing process with honesty, self-efficacy, and hope.
Patient stories and analogies that help complex ideas make sense.
Practices and reflections to help you apply what you learn.
You’ll also find exercises and journal prompts—starting on page 125 of the book and available as downloads here in the course. These tools are designed to give you small, gentle ways to practice new ideas and begin connecting them to your life.
