Floor-Based Reset for Morning Aches

Instructor: Doraine

Style: Gentle Somatic Yoga

Level: All levels

Props: Blanket, 2 blocks, and a low support like a bolster, ottoman, or couch seat

Length: 20 minute

Class Description:

This floor-based practice is Doraine’s personal go-to for easing into the day when waking up stiff or achy. With Stephanie as the demo student, Doraine shares a slow, intuitive series of supported poses, breathwork, and micro-movements to release tension in the hips, spine, and fascia—helping you transition from rest to readiness with steadiness and care.

You’ll Explore:

  • Supported breath awareness in constructive rest

  • Gentle hip joint decompression using grounding hand pressure

  • Passive supine twists with props for softness and release

  • Somatic cues for observing subtle shifts and natural unwinding

  • Slow windshield wipers and bridge lifts to mobilize spine and sacrum

  • 90/90 lunge variations with block support to stretch the back body and fascia

  • Pelvic and head alignment cues to deepen the stretch while reducing strain

  • Inviting fascia to release through held postures, gravity, and breath

This class is ideal for those with morning stiffness, recovering from stress, or seeking a nourishing way to gently mobilize the body without strain. Practice it as a daily ritual or anytime you need a soft, spacious reset.
