With love and granola skepticism
A Word From Jeanetta
Hi Love,
Growing up, my mom would take me to a natural food store in Columbus, Georgia, called “Country Life.” Picture walls of spices, barrels of flour and nuts, and the most uninspiring granola you’ve ever tasted. Nothing ever seemed to taste good from that store, and my skepticism of all things “holistic” started right there in those aisles. It’s funny how a childhood memory can shape our beliefs—because now, as an adult, I see the beauty and power of a holistic approach. Turns out, it’s not all “granola,” and it can actually be really good.
When we think about healing or improving our well-being, many of us turn to what’s familiar: physical therapy, medications, or surface-level fixes. These methods can be incredibly effective for certain issues, especially when you’re addressing something purely physical. But here’s the thing: we’re not just physical beings. We’re complex, layered, and interconnected.
In yoga, this holistic view is often explained through the lens of the Koshas, or “layers” of our being: the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual layers. Each week, we’re going to explore your pelvic floor through these layers. Because your pelvic floor isn’t just a set of muscles—it’s a hub of physical strength, emotional resilience, and spiritual connection.
Holistic healing isn’t about being perfect or fixing every “problem.” It’s about shedding the old stories and beliefs that no longer serve us. It’s about rediscovering the untamed, vibrant version of ourselves that’s been buried beneath the layers.
Let’s ride the wave together.
Love,
